Carnegies 16th street steps are in need of restoration. Contractors have proposed removing and replacing mortar joints throughout the stairs to include the top landing, top stair case, middle landing, middle stair case, first landing and first stair case. In addition to repointing, they have proposed replacing 85 of the damaged stones with stones similar to the existing stones. The stones in good condition would be left untouched. The goal of the project is to restore the steps to the way they looked when originally built.

Phase one revision 1 during processing of permit b1609931 for partial alterations and repairs to the existing carnegie institution for science, dcra officials identified the zoning requirement for a roof-top screen to be erected around all proposed mechanical equipment. This revision to the approved b1609931 permit includes re-arranged rooftop hvac equipment outdoor air supply and final details for piping, ducting and power. Also structural design for augmentation necessary to support machines and roof screen assembly. Interior new layout alteration for a single office approximately 3 sf.
