The project includes replacement of all sidewalks, streetlight globes, tree planters and some curb along three blocks of south u. It also includes planting trees and installing associated tree pits and grates, infiltration planters, benches, bike hoops, and pavers. Between the existing bumpouts along south u, the curb will be moved to widen the sidewalk for trees and possible restaurant seating. Bumpouts will be added at the intersections of both s. Forest and washtenaw to improve pedestrian crossings. The project is scheduled to begin spring 2017.
