The 7th floor psychiatric unit remodel in the lds hospital is a complete remodel project to create a new 34-bed psychiatric unit with patient and staff support functions. All patient rooms are single occupancy and serving patients 18 years and older. This project not only increases the number of licensed psychiatric beds, but it also updates the patient environment to current safety standards and technology appropriate for the care of this type of patient. The design minimizes hiding corners, shortens travel themselves or others. The unit has been designed as an i-2 area of the hospital.
