Enclosure of an existing exterior basement access stairway for weather and security purposes. Stairwell has caused excessive water damage to finished basement due to its openess. Stairwell has also caused concerns with security and possiblity of undetected forced entry. Construction to be 2x4 wood studs @ 16" o c with 3 4" gyp bd each side, fiber taped and joint finished, 2 hour bearing walls, ( u 301 ), tyvek wrapped and vinyl siding to match existing residence profile and color. Rafters are 2x8 joist @ 16" o c with 3 4" gyp bd. Ceiling, fiber taped and joint finished, fire treated 5 8 plywood, building felt and shingles. Flat roof will be covered with fully adhred epdm roofing system. All trim will match the existing profile of the residence. A rated metal door will be provided at the top of the stair access. One exterior wall fixture will installed on the exterior south wall near the entrance door. Existing wall fixture will light the interior of the enclosurers.
