Each shovel test pit will be hand-excavated to a depth of approximately 3 feet. The pits will be approximately 16 inches square. All pits will be refilled once the excavation is complete. Initially sod will be removed and subsequently replaced after the pit has been filled. It is estimated that work will be conducted over 2 days. No pits will be left open over night.
