The south end open market (seom - at one time known as sowa open market) has been in operation by chris masci of new england open markets for 13 years. In order to continue this south end institution the south end open market has had to seek a new home in the area because of an expiring lease. Seom has a loyal following including 9 vendors 95% of whom have re-committed to seom for the 2016 season. The market has had a significant economic impact on the businesses located in and around the south end neighborhood and will continue to do so for many years to come. Seom has worked with national development owner of ink block to maintain seoms presence in the south end and find a single location to consolidate its farmers arts and food markets. For seoms 2016 season which runs sundays from may 1st to october 30th tufts has generously made available its medical center employee parking lot on traveler street.
