Brandywine apartments of maryland, llc. Existing canopy to be renovated . The canopy is being renovated along with the entrance vestibule ,storefront . In order to determine how the canopy was built we applied for and received a demolition permit permit d-1600581. This permit was to allow us to expose the canopy steel frame , which we did , and we discovered that the steel columns had corroded to the piont that the canopy is unstable, and need to replace the columns so we can repair the canopy. It is the intention to reuse the canopy steel and install a glass roof . The plans for this are being submitted in the next few days ,however as per dc code we are carrying out the structural repairs as an emergency repair and need to submit the repair details to dcra within 24 hours, as per plans and structural certification. No changes to the width and length of the canopy is wide and cantilevers 14.
