Owner (retired architect) wants to build 16 x 24 two story addition to house. Addition will actually connect the garage with the house. Wants to convert garage space into a personal studio / office work space. Problem... Existing garage is seven feet from alleyway right-of-way. Connecting the two structures makes the entire building a principle and subject to the more restrictive fifteen foot setback. May want to consider seeking boa variance to make this addition?
