Installation of 4 2 inch groundwater monitoring wells using a hollow-stem auger rig. The wells will be installed to a depth of approximately feet bgs. The wells will be constructed of gauge pvc with feet of 0. 0 inch slotted screen at the bottom of each well. Number 2 sand will be placed around the screen with 2 feet of medium bentonite chips extending above the sand. A bentonite/portland cement/potable water grout will then be placed from the top of the bentonite chips to just below the surface. The wells will be flush mounted with locking well caps. Soil and groundwater samples will be collected for laboratory analysis.

To determine the potential for soil vapor intrusion, two soil vapor points will be installed at the northwest corner of the property. The locations of the soil vapor sample locations are depicted on figure 1. Soil gas sample implants will be installed at each location using direct push drilling methods, geoprobe. The geoprobe creates little disturbance, leaving only a 1. 25 inch diameter hole and generates little to no soil cutting. The implants, consisting of six inch long stainless steel screen attached to a 0. 25 inch diameter polyethylene tubing, will be installed at a target depth of 5. 5 to 6 feet bgs. Each soil gas point will be flush mounted using a four inch diameter vault cover with a galvanized steel sleeve.
