The proposed work consists of construction of the stormwater management facilities and underground utility infrastructure for the kennedy center for the performing arts expansion - swm plan number 3955. Refer to building permit number b1411311 for erosion and sediment control and excavation approval. This project is located on federal property.

Drill ten borings within site expansion area to depths ranging from 5 to feet bgs using geoprobe drilling method and macro-core samplers having an od of 2. 25 inches. Boreholes will be grouted upon completion of assessment and will be open less than 24 hours.

We will perform 3 cone penetrometer tests, cpts and 2 flat dilatometer tests, dmts. The cpts and dmts consist of a conical and flat plate probe, respectively, that are pushed into the ground using a truck rig. No investigation dervide wastes are expected to be generated. If holes do not self-seal upon removal of probes, probe-holes will be immediately filled with grout.

1 vertical geothermal bore, air rotary method to target depth of 5 feet, 8. 5 inch diameter to bedrock and 5. 5 inch diameter to target depth thereafter. See attached work plan for more detail.

Dc clean rivers proposes to drill twelve geotechnical borings, inc-1, inc-2, inc-3, bx-1, bx-2, bx-3, bx-4, bx-5, pz-1, pz-2, ow-1, ow-2, located in the parking lot and green space south of the kennedy center and north of i-66. The borings will be 6 inches in diameter and range between 67 and 82 feet in depth, drilled by mud rotary methods. Temporary casing will be used to install inclonometers, borehole extensometers and vibrating wire piezometers. Permanent casing will be socketed and grouted in rock before proceeding with drilling. Temporary casing will be set before proceeding with drilling. All drilling generated wastes will be drummed, and tested for proper disposal. All borings will be protected from surface water drainage and the vertical migration of contaminants and other materials down the borehole.

Dc clean rivers project proposes to drill 1 secant piles, identified as s-1 through s-130, to support excavation of the cso-21 diversion chamber and drop shaft located in the parking lot and green space south of the kennedy center and north of i-66. The secant piles will be inches in diameter 67 feet deep and drilled by auger methods. Temporary steel casing will be advanced to top of rock and grouted before continued drilling. See attached work plan and schematics for additional information. All drilling generated waste will be contained: solids and liquids, tested and properly disposed. The boring will be covered and protected from surface water drainage and the vertical migration of contaminants and other materials during construction.

On behalf of dc water, the dc clean rivers project is requesting the doee approval to install approximately rock grout borings surrounding the drop shaft located south of the kennedy center. Dccr is proposing to drill the rock grout borings to support construction of the division pr-b cso-21 diversion chamber and drop shaft as part of dc waters ltcp. The rock grout borings will be excavated utilizing duplex rotary drilling with water flush methods to top of rock. Wet rotary with water flush and/or water actuated down the hole hammer methods will be used to drill into the rock. The rock grout will be tremied to the top of the bedrock. The boring will then be tremie grouted with bentonite slurry from the top of rock to the surface while extracting the temporary surface casing. Soil cuttings shall be isolated and temporarily stockpiled at the site in applicable stockpiling regulations. Sampling and laboratory analysis of these spoils will be performed to determine disposal requirements. No

(dccr) proposes to drill and install micropile foundation elements (s-1 through s-20) to support the ventilation control facility at the cso 021 diversion chamber and drop shaft site, located south of the kennedy center and north of i-66. Micropile foundation installation will be performed utilizing a fully cased methodology. After installing the first section of casing, drilling with an auger or bucket is performed until the excavation inside the casing reaches approximately 1. 5 feet above the lower end of the casing. Sandbags and earth dikes will be used to prevent surface runoff from entering the borehole. Reinforced steel will be placed after the excavation of the micropile has been completed, and the design depth of the pile has been reached. Each individual micropile shaft will be permanently filled with 4,0 psi grout. No excavated soils will be used as backfill. The micropile installation, waste management of drill spoils, and groundwater protective measures are comprehensively
