I walked to the area involved with the fire rep and we discussed with the maintenance personnel the lock out tag out procedure. I remained on site to verify the lock out tag out and provided instruction in the use of the scissor lock out device to the maintenance personnel. I remained on site and verified the lock out/tag out to completion. I have re affirmed to the personnel present to contact the elevator company for the permit and the repairs. Fire was contained in the elevator machine room and was a probable result of pumping equipment failure for the hydraulic system. Fire was contained in the elevator machine room and was a probable result of pumping equipment failure for the hydraulic system.
