Removal of two small above ground fuel oil tanks - one 275-gallon diesel fuel and one 330-gallon heating oil tank

Eight soil borings are planned to be conducted in order to evaluate environmental -soil and groundwater- conditions. The proposed soil borings are located on private property and is either concrete or asphalt paved. Soil borings depth are anticipated up to feet below ground surface. A licensed driller will complete the soil boring abandonment activities. The soil borings will be backfilled immediately upon completion of drilling. No disturbed soils will be used to backfill the soil borings. Each soil boring location shall be tremie-grouted in one continuous operation from the bottom of the soil boring upward to the ground surface. A bentonite slurry mix will consist of at least two pounds bentonite powder to one gallon of water. The approximate limit of disturbance per location is expected to be one square feet per location.

This is the 4th permit for the same location. Two additional 1 gallon tanks were uncovered that require removal. Previous permits for same site for ust removals -permit no., ut1700029, ut1700035, ut1700040.

This site has already had two permits pulled for underground tanks. We have encountered three more very small underground fuel oil tanks - approximately 1 gallons each that need to be removed.

This is a revision-addition to permit no. Ut1700029 - and additional 4 more underground fuel oil tanks are expected to be removed. Three tanks have been removed to date. An expected 4,0 gallon, 1,0 gallon and possibly two 2,0 gallon tanks to still be removed. Limit of disturbance is estimated 4 square feet. Possible additional contaminated soil in the amount of tons to also be removed prior to backfilling site. Construction fencing is set up around the entire peremiter of the site along with erosion and sediment control. S
