Adding a canopy to replace awning. Site of work the 1 story house is a l -shaped wood- framed with brick veneer built in 1950. The objective this work will improve the exterior with no changes to the existing structure. Changes will be made on the inside corner of the l within the existing footprint of the dwelling. I will replace the awning over the landing with a wood-framed structure creating a covered entry area approximately 5x5 feet. I will alter the direction of snow accumulation and eliminate ice on the landing while creating a beefier canopy. Design the design mimics the-low hip canopy commonly employed in l-shaped houses in the 1950s. Framing will be covered by inch stock with decorative elements (transom) expected to improve the appearance of the home in a manner fitting the original design. The basic design is copied from 457 parker street in newton ma of which 2 photos are provided. Structure the concrete base original to the house and is level without signs of settlement.
